Martin Zbinden, a resident of New Creation Field, passed away on April 30th due to a heart failure. Martin came to Auroville in 1997 with his family from Switzerland, Nadja, Luca and David.

On October 30th, Klara Brogli, Aurovilian resident of Surya Nivas, left her body in her native country, Switzerland. She was 81. Due to a medical intervention which substantially reduced the quality of her existence, Klara chose to terminate her life for which in Switzerland officially recognised assistance is available.

On January 17, Christian Koradi left his body at his home in Prarthana, at the age of 69. Suffering from severe back pain, he had been treated in Santé since June last year for Arteritis Temporalis (Giant Cell Arteritis), a rare auto-immune vasculitis.

On the morning of 28 May, Myriam Françoise Marie Noelle Isaac left her body at the age of 76 due to cancer at her house in Sincerity, surrounded by her children.

On September 26, Daniel Humbert-Droz passed away in his house in Sharnga at the age of 74 in the presence of his partner Komala and friends.

This design, incorporating Mother’s mantra, is by François Samson. François lived in Auroville between 1979 and 1986. He planted many trees and helped bring beauty to an eroded landscape.
